Nicknamed the « stationary traveler », Ferdinand Hédiard perfectly embodied the profession of a grocer. He was passionate about his products, constantly seeking new flavors. This spirit still continues 160 years later.
Today, la Maison Hediard keeps on perpetuating the tradition of a strict selection of products, and production methods that are true to the authentic recipes . The rare commodities from around the world were the first items to build Hédiard's fame. Recognized for its excellent bourbon vanilla, Hédiard was the first store to import such products as dates, Nuoc Mam or imperial cinnamon.
Then, Hédiard stood out with the production of its own jams and fruit jellies. Eventually, Hédiard opened its Cellar in the 1960s.
