COMITE COLBERT, A JOURNEY TO DISCOVER FRENCH LUXURY
Offering total immersion in a very imaginative virtual world, cColbert a joint project undertaken by all the prestigious French brands within the Comité Colbert to show what French luxury and art de vivre are all about. This online installation contains audio and visual elements provided by the 70 French luxury brands to illustrate the variety and richness of each brand while conveying a consistent message about French style and what it implies: superior workmanship, creativity, high standards of quality and love of craft, as well as an admirable sense of proportion and feel for elegance.
Seeking a linguistic and cultural definition of luxury, the Comité Colbert selected words reflecting its essence, first in French and then in Chinese. The research results were summed up in ten words, with cultural commentary referring to the history of the language and the perception of France in China. These ten concepts, rendered in calligraphic form, are the keys to the world of cColbert.
