With more than 30 varieties of coffees from the four corners of the earth, HEDIARD continues its legendary tradition of discovery. Only the Arabica coffees, renowned for their aroma and finesse are sold.
Cultivated in altitude, slowly ripened protected from the scorching heat, all HEDIARD’s coffees come with a certificate of origin and are selected among the best “crus”. The size, density and colour of the beans are carefully examined in order to preserve their character.
From the producer to the consumer, the coffee undergoes quality controls at every stage. HEDIARD quality is based on the strictest requirements.
Such controls require skill and expertise, consequently HEDIARD is associated with a coffee specialist.
Prestigious vintages
HEDIARD privileges rarity with a few prestigious “grands crus” esteemed throughout the world. The full-flavoured coffees that stand out are Porto Rico, whose cherries are picked one by one at their peak ripeness, the Farfell Coffee Estate, a registered designation from Zimbabwe, and Java Blue of the Sunda Islands. Hawaï’s Pure Kona, cultivated in its volcanic soil, the extremely rare Blue Mountain of Jamaica, and the voluptuous Sul de Minas of Brazil, are a delight for mellow coffee lovers.
HEDIARD also offers unusual blends, and carefully keeps the ingredients a secret: Italian, French, Madeleine Blend, HEDIARD Blend, Route des Cafés, East African Blend, South American Blend or Island Blend.
The know-how
HEDIARD roasts a good deal of its coffees itself. Roasting is a crucial step as there is a chemical modification of the bean. It is during this stage that the aromas develop.
In Paris, at the heart of the Madeleine boutique, the machine roasts according to accepted practice and, on roasting days, the boutique fills with mouth-watering smells.
